What an MMA class looks like

  1. Warm-up

Conditioning and movement to raise your heart rate and loosen you up.

  2. Technique

Strikes, takedowns or ground work, and how to connect them into one game.

  3. Drilling

Pad work and partner drills at a pace that matches your skill and comfort.

  4. Sparring

Controlled sparring as your skills grow, with coaches watching. Nobody spars on day one.

MMA builds strength, endurance and flexibility at the same time.

MMA questions

Do I need martial arts experience?

No. You'll learn everything you need in class, at a level that matches your skill and comfort.

Do I have to compete?

No. Some students choose to compete, but you can learn and spar in class without ever taking a fight.

Is MMA dangerous?

There is always some risk in a contact sport. With qualified coaches and the safety rules we follow in class, serious injuries are unlikely.

Can women train MMA?

Yes. Women and men both train and compete in MMA.

Why is MMA 16+?

MMA includes striking and sparring, so it starts at 16. Teens 14 and 15 can start with BJJ or No-Gi.
